Real estate blog Movoto has named Henderson the fifth safest big city in the country.
Using Census data and FBI statistics to survey the country's 100 biggest cities, the blog placed? Irvine, Calif., at the top of the list, followed by Fremont, Calif.; Gilbert, Ariz.; and Plano, Texas.
Movoto described Henderson as a quiet, safe community with all the benefits of living near Las Vegas' bustling Strip.
Henderson had 169 violent crimes per 100,000 people last year, while Las Vegas had 783.
