Boy, 9, death treated as suspicious

Cordoned off house in Pennell Street, Lincoln Police found the nine-year-old boy after being called to a house in Pennell Street, Lincoln The death of a nine-year-old boy in Lincolnshire is being treated as suspicious by police.


Officers were called to an address in Pennell Street, Lincoln at about 12:00 GMT where they found the child who was taken to Lincoln County Hospital.


He was pronounced dead a short time later and a 64-year-old man is helping police with their inquiries.


A cordon has been put in place at the address while officers carry out investigations.


Resident James Carver told BBC Radio Lincolnshire people in the street were shocked.


He said: "The street is normally very quiet with a lot of families.


"It is really sad news, especially with it being so close to Christmas."
